Apple iPhone 6 A8 Processor

When the iPhone 5 was released, Apple received some criticism for including a faster processor in its A6 chip, as some thought it was too powerful.  The argument was that the iPhone 5’s processor in the A6 chip was so powerful that it could never maximize its potential with such a limited device as the iPhone 5.  Apple responded to this by doubling the processor speed in the iPhone 5s just a few months later.  With what Apple has in store for the upcoming iPhone 6, it doesn’t seem like overkill is one of their concerns. With two hugely upgraded screens and display resolution, Apple is also including yet another upgrade for the  iPhone’s 6 processor to match.    According to a recent rumor round-up by Laptop Magazine, the new A8 processor will, yet again, be Apple’s most powerful yet:

“The iPhone 5s was the first smartphone to launch with Apple’s first 64-bit processor, the company’s A7 chip. According to rumors, the handset maker is pushing the envelope even further with its iPhone 6 by including a blazing fast 20-nanometer quad-core, 64-bit A8 CPU. If the rumors are true, the iPhone 6 would be the first iPhone to pack a quad-core processor. Reports suggest that the next iPhone will also have quad-core graphics, making it one of the most powerful smartphones–if not the most powerful–on the market.”
