New renders have appeared purporting to give a realistic look at Apple’s newest iPhone with the new features of the just-announced iOS 11. The mocked up images show the new iPhone – unofficially referred to as the iPhone 8 or iPhone X – in use with iOS 11’s new features. These include transferring money through iMessage, the “Do Not Disturb” driving mode, and controlling Apple’s upcoming HomePod speakers.
The renders also raise an interesting question about the “sensor bar” which cuts into the display at the top to make room for the cameras and earpiece. The full display might always be used, leaving it to developers to ensure that apps take the lost space into account, or iOS may reserve the top of the screen to display battery life, signal, and the like.
