Samsung is eagerly looking to the future after its disastrous release (and subsequent recall) of the Note 7. The company revealed that its Galaxy S8 will centrally feature its new AI “Viv”, which it acquired last month. Viv can create its own programs on the fly and will support third-party extensions, which may bring more flexibility than previous AIs such as Siri.
Samsung has not announced any further details about the S8, such as price or release date. The new phone may be delayed as Samsung spends time researching the cause of the Note 7’s defects.
